American Body Building is a company who manufactures many supplements intended towards the body builder
market (big surprise.) I, being a non-body builder, don't really care to understand the hoohah about
nitric oxide pumps and anabolic this and thermogenic that. Even though they blurr together, all I care about is that many of their products
are "pre-workout" or "thermogenic," which in layman's terms means they count for an energy collection. American Body Building Adrenalyn Shot This is a little large by "shot" standards, but compared to ABB's usual 18oz supplements, it's pretty small. Berry Buzz Size: 8oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 6/10 Energy Rating: 7/10 Review: The flavor is actually pleasant, which is rare for a powerful supplsment. Generic berry flavor, quite sweet with a bit of vitaminness, but that's to be expected with a drink like this. Energy is a good hard kick. Adrenalyn Stack This is a perfect example of the usual pre-workout ABB supplement. Citrush Size: 18oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 5/10 Energy Rating: 8/10 Review: I don't really recall the taste that well, so it must have been ok. Vitamin aftertaste, but overall ok flavor for a supplement of its caliber. Energy is good for seasoned drinkers, and would seem impressive to lightweights. Diet Turbo Tea Diet Turbo Tea is an odd supplement entry by ABB. It is literally just tea, with a little extra caffeine. Lemon Tea Size: 18oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 7/10 Energy Rating: 5/10 Review: The Lemon flavor is pretty good, despite the fact that I thought I was drinking raspberry the entire time. I like raspberry, so that's good. Energy isn't much, because it's tea. Still, it's not your mom's cup of earl grey... Peach Tea Size: 18oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, State College, PA Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 7/10 Energy Rating: 5/10 Review: Another flavor of ABB's tea drink, this one is a pleasant, if slightly overbearing, peach. Energy is more than tea, but that's not saying alot when compared to their other supplements. Newcomers to powerful energy drinks should start with this. Nitric Force Nitric Force, to me, is just another ABB supplement. They all seem the same to me. Sure, muscleheads talk about nitric oxide and blahblahblah...but it's got caffeine and taurine, so I don't care what else it does. Grape Size: 22oz bottle Location Acquired: Vitamin Shoppe, Albany, NY Contributor: Cathy Knapp Location in Collection: The Roomies Taste Rating: 5/10 Energy Rating: 7/10 Review: Grape always goes over pretty well when it comes to powerful supplements, and this follows true. Not great, but they hide the vitamins and such pretty well. Not exactly something I'd drink with a snack though. Energy, is a moderate to pretty significant kick. Ripped Force This is a pre-workout supplement, again seemingly pretty similar to ABB's other products. Fruit Punch Size: 18oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 6/10 Energy Rating: 8/10 Review: The Fruit Punch isn't bad, edging out a grape flavor by a small margin. Still not a refreshing drink, but the flavor manages to keep the powerful supplement taste under control. Energy is a pretty good kick, as this has a pretty good ingredient blend. Grape Size: 18oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 5/10 Energy Rating: 8/10 Review: Tastes the same as any other Grape ABB supplement, but with a slightly larger energy kick than Nitric Force. Speed Shot Speed Shot is my favorite line of ABB products. Their small size, smooth flavors, and powerful energy make them winners in my book. Purple Frost Size: 8oz metal bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 6/10 Energy Rating: 7/10 Review: Purple Frost is a syrupy, smooth grape-like flavor that is beyond true identification. The flavor is pleasant if consumed in small gulps. For a little drink, this thing packs a kick of energy. Subzero Red Size: 8oz metal bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 6/10 Energy Rating: 7/10 Review: Subzero Red has similar qualities to Purple Frost, but is less syrupy and easier to drink. This is my favorite flavor of Speed Shot. Same good strong kick of energy. Speed Shot Intensity Speed Shot Intensity is basically a cheap gimick. What they did is take regular Speed Shot, which is a 1 serving bottle, redefine it as 2 servings, and call it a "double dose." Although a few ingredients changed, the caffeine content is the same as regular Speed Shot per bottle. Purple Frost Size: 8oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 4/10 Energy Rating: 7/10 Review: Although it's essentially the same as regular Speed Shot, they somehow screwed up the flavor while they were renaming it a double dose. This is still a "purple" or grapish flavor, but more watery and wide open. Because of its size, I prefer the regular to this. Still the same kick of energy. Subzero Red Size: 8oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 6/10 Energy Rating: 7/10 Review: This flavor, they didn't mess with. It's the same enjoyable flavor as its regular counterpart. Same energy as well. Double dose my foot. Speed Stack Speed Stack is the larger parent of the formula that makes up the concentrated Speed Shots. A pure energy supplement, caffeine and synephrine combine to give a good kick. Fruit Punch Size: 18oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Oakdale Mall, Johnson City, NY Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 5/10 Energy Rating: 7/10 Review: ABB's larger supplements never get very high on the taste ladder, but Fruit Punch is their best. Speed Stack, however, tends to have a more watery wide flavor, making it less enjoyable. Still not bad though. Energy is pretty good. Lemon Lime Size: 18oz bottle Location Acquired: GNC, Viewmont Mall, Scranton, PA Location in Collection: The Powerfuls Taste Rating: 2/10 Energy Rating: 7/10 Review: This drink tasted like paint thinner, and smelled like piss. Avoid citrus flavors in powerful drinks at all costs. Energy is the usual good kick. |
