Mountain Dew Mountain Dew is the soda your parents didn't want you drinking when you were a kid; by soda standards, it's practically an energy drink in itself. However, because it's still marketed as a soda, I can't count it completely. They do make, though, a few products which count as energy under my criteria. *Note: I do not count Amp under Mountain Dew. Game Fuel Halo3 Limited Edition Size: 12oz can Location Acquired: Conklin Mart, Conklin, NY Location in Collection: The Freakshow Taste Rating: 10/10 Energy Rating: 2/10 Review: This is a citrusey soda with the caffeine content upped to give gamers the boost they need to play Halo3 for extended periods. Taste is quite good, energy is a small sugar/caffeine rush. Game Fuel World of Warcraft Limited Edition Alliance Blue Size: 20oz bottle Location Acquired: WalMart, Vestal, NY Location in Collection: The Mob Taste Rating: 10/10 Energy Rating: 2/10 Review: Same upped caffeine; this time themed for WoW. This is for Alliance players (read: n00bs), and is a "blue" zingy blue raspberry flavor. Energy is the same as the Halo3 version; a mild caffeine buzz with a sugar rush. Game Fuel World of Warcraft Limited Edition Horde Red Size: 20oz bottle Location Acquired: WalMart, Vestal, NY Location in Collection: The Mob Taste Rating: 10/10 Energy Rating: 2/10 Review: Same upped caffeine, but themed for Horde players. It's a citrus flavor. Energy is the same. MDX Size: 20oz bottle Location Acquired: Pump 'n' Pantry, Lenox, PA Location in Collection: The Mob Taste Rating: 10/10 Energy Rating: 4/10 Review: Mountain Dew tops Vault before Vault even came out with this: the first legit energy soda! They added in an energy blend, while upping the caffeine and staying true to their roots. The taste is somewhere between Mountain Dew and Amp; very delicious with good energy from sugar and energy ingredients combined. Revolution Size: 20oz bottle Location Acquired: Price Chopper, Montrose, PA Location in Collection: The Mob Taste Rating: 9/10 Energy Rating: 2/10 Review: One of the three "drinker-created" flavors that competed a while ago; they all have ginseng and upped caffeine levels. This one is a cotton-candyish flavor. Energy, eh, ok. Supernova Size: 20oz bottle Location Acquired: Price Chopper, Montrose, PA Location in Collection: The Mob Taste Rating: 9/10 Energy Rating: 2/10 Review: This is a "purple" flavor; it is a berry-citrus combo, also tasty. Energy is eh. Voltage Size: 20oz bottle Location Acquired: Price Chopper, Montrose, PA Location in Collection: The Mob Taste Rating: 10/10 Energy Rating: 2/10 Review: This one is...I'm not sure how to describe it without sounding similar to the other two, but I'm sure you've had it. Energy, eh. Other Items My collection also contains 12oz cans of WoW Horde Red, Supernova, and Voltage, as well as a 2L bottle of the latter. |
